My 'No Make-Up' Make-Up Look

Recently I haven't been doing much with my face just keeping it au natural as my mum would say.
Anyway I thought I'd share with you my secret to my 'No Make-up' Make-up look.

To start off with I used my Real Techniques expert face brush to apply my Maybelline Fit Me foundation in the shade 115 Ivory (and yes that is the lightest shade  I have pale skin!). To cover up all my blemishes and sometimes the dark circles especially when you're not doing much to your face! I apply the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in shade 10 Light and I use the RT pointed foundation brush to apply it.
I contour my cheeks using the body shop's honey bronzer in 01 to add a bit of warmth to my face because pale that's why!
I use to MAC's omega to fill in my brows so it look like I have some eyebrows and also use omega across my lid so there is some colour going on there. I apply mascara after and I use Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes mascara in black the brush is very unique its a very thin and curved brush so you can get right into corner lashes and due to the curvature in the brush it lengthens and volumises your lashes at the same time (woop woop!)
Setting my make-up with a powder is essential so your face looks matte because nobody likes a shiny face. Again with the Maybelline products can you tell it's my favourite brand? Anyway the powder I use is Maybelline Fit Me powder in 115 Ivory. I
Finally I apply my Burt's Bees Beeswax lip balm as the finish touch as you have to keep your lips moisturised - cracked lips are the worst!

My TBR Jar

Good Evening my peeps! (I'm just trying out something new, go with it). So I got this little idea from the lovely Christina from the channel Little Book Owl on YouTube.

The only reason I decided to do it was because I have some many books and e-books I want to read/re-read and I don't know which book to choose. Some books I've had for years and never got round to reading and likewise with my e-books. For example I've had the Girl Who trilogy by Stieg Larsson on my kindle since I first got my kindle almost 2 years ago (woops).

The combination of my physical copies of book and my kindle bookshelf is so overwhelming with a grand total of 153 books. As you can imagine choosing the next book to read is a task in itself. Enter my TBR jar! I wrote all the names of the books I want to read and re-read and chucked them into this recycled dolmio jar (preserving the Earth!)I'm going to start this once I've finished reading the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series because damn those books! Anyway the plan is to pick out a slip of paper and that will be the next book I read. However if I happen to pick a sequel or a book further on that series, I will put that piece of paper back in the jar and read the first book of said series.

But if I pick a book that I really don't want to read I'm going to either delete it off my kindle or donate the book to charity and then pick another.
This way it makes my book reading less of a hassle and my TBR pile starts to decrease quicker.

do you guys like the sound of a TBR jar?
what books are you currently reading?
I might even add that book to my TBR pile

I Got Sort Of Blonde

Last year getting your hair ombred was a very popular trend and everyone was getting it done. I wanted to change up my hair without getting it cut short (which I very almost did and thank god I didn't) so I decided to 'ombre' my hair. As I'm already Ginger/Blonde having blonde in the bottom half of my hair isn't going to be very drastic but it will be different. Plus I have a couple of parties to attend this month so I wanted it done before then.

I didn't want to do it at home from one of the box dye kits so off to the hairdressers I went to get it done professionally (knowing me my hair would turn our half green and with a massive blonde line across my hair, not classy).
I know what you're thinking that will be expensive but it actually wasn't I was very surprised also mumma paid for most of it as my Easter present, yay! Besides I love going to the hairdressers and getting my hair done or is that just me?!

So what do you think guys?
am I rocking the blonde?

I Have A Problem...

A couple of days ago I happened to stumble upon an amazing TV show called New Girl and for the last couple of days I have been binge watching the crap out of it. It has actually gotten to a point where I decided to skip my dinner because I was only one episode off the season 2 finale (which was AMAZING by the way!) So I have decided to own up to my problem and say I have a slight addiction to New Girl...

3 seasons in 3 days (personally I think that is a pretty good record). I think I might even order the box set but I'm still in the middle of deciding on that... This show is just the perfect balance of comedy, romance, destruction and innuendos (it's a relationship in a TV show).
If you haven't seen New Girl getting watching it now binge-watch it if you must as the return of New Girl is Tuesday 15th April! After season 3 latest episode I know I'm very excited for episode 21 and to see how the plot plays out for the rest of the season!

Are you a fan of new girl?
What is your favourite TV comedy show at the moment?

Les Miserables - The Westend Theatre Production

After watching last nights Britain's Got Talent and seeing the boy band Collabro perform a beautiful rendition of Javert's Suicide; it got dad and I thinking back to October when we went to see Les Miserables on the West End.

In August 2013 I decided to buy tickets for Dad and I to see Les Miserables at the West End for his birthday as the two of us enjoy it so much!
Back in the early Summer of 2013 dad had showed me the 'I Dreamed A Dream' that Fantine tells and after the beautiful song had finished I was immediately online to watch the 2.5 hour movie version. Ever since seeing it has become one of my all time favourite musical films. One thing I loved about the movie was that all the music was performed live so all the actors could change up their acting choices on each take.
Anyway I sidetracked, after watching it was the sixth time watching it that summer and still unsure on to get my dad for his birthday and not any birthday his 40th. So I knew it had to be something special when the idea to buy tickets for the two of us to see our favourite musical at the west end!
It must have been the hardest secret for me to keep from my dad as I just wanted to blurt it out every time I saw him. But I did keep the secret indeed and when his birthday came around we were equally as excited (eek!).

The day had finally rolled around and I don't think I've seen so excited for something before. It was an early start we must have left at atleast 9 am as the show was at 2.30 on the Saturday. We did a bit of shopping headed to Superdry and Selfridges after having breakfast at Garfunkel's. We also went to the Natural History Museum to kill some time and ended up having a great laugh then we finally headed to Shaftsbury Avenue and grabbed a McDonalds (which I've never eaten so quickly before) before heading in the theatre.

The show was absolutely brilliant! If you watch any of Carrie Fletcher's YouTube videos on her channel It'sWayPastMyBedtime you would know she is currently in Les Mis as Eponine which got me really excited and she was extraordinary she brought me to tears during 'On My Own'. After the last line of the show was sung I've never seen a standing ovation so big in my life. Everyone in the theatre was on their feet in awe of what they just saw, applauding the amazing cast and if any of the other people attending the show were like me and dad then they were wiping away the tears of all emotions they were experiencing.
If you haven't even seen the 2012 movie rendition of Les Mis I highly recommend that you watch it now and if you have seen it then I recommend seeing it live even more.
The show is beautiful in every single way, in every act, scene and song. Plus the majority of the musical and film in sung instead of spoken which is so refreshing to watch. I couldn't possibly say any more good things about this musical but you should come to our own opinion so get watching!

have you ever seen Les Mis?

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons

About a year ago Tanya Burr started raving about these amazingly pigmented lip crayons that were the revolution of the decade within the beauty world. This product happened to be the Bourjois Colour Boost lip crayons. After I had watched countless videos of Tanya going on about how great they were I went out and grabbed myself two, maybe three okay all four! However my validation is that they are very pretty and I needed them all!

So the colour boosts come in four shades in 01 Red Sunrise, 02 Fuchsia Libre, 03 Orange Punch and 04 Peach on the Beach (until recently when the released another two; 05 Red Island and 06 Plum Russian).

The great thing about these little guys is that they have a twistable end so no need to sharpen. As Tanya Burr raved about and I can firmly agree with is they are highly pigmented and very buildable you can either wear is very sheer with maybe one/two coats or very bold with 4-6 coats. Along with great pigmentation they are very moisturising and I feel like I'm wearing lip balm instead of a lip colour (well they are a balm, durr). They are also very glossy or if you don't like they look of your lips being glossy you can take away the shine by blotting you lips with some tissue.
Lastly they have a wear time of 2.5-3 hours at the most but I feel they leave your lips tinted in the colour you wear once if has wore off but that's just my opinion.

01 Red Sunrise is more of a pinky red and I only wear this shade when I'm off out for a special meal or something as I don't wear a bold lip often. 03 Orange Punch and 04 Peach on the Beach are definitely more suitable for the day as they are more subtle than 01 Red Sunrise but if you build up the colour it can look quite bold. I see myself reaching for 03 Orange Punch which is a lovely coral/orange (obviously I love it) colour and 02 Fuchsia Libre which is in the middle of a subtle berry tone and a bold pink and is slowly becoming my favourite (just give it time).
I haven'y got round it purchasing 05 Red Island and 06 Plum Russian but don't you worry your little cotton socks they will be in my collection shortly.

Do you have a Bourjois Colour Boost lip crayon?
If so what is your favourite? If not what is your favourite lip crayon?

What's In My School Bag?

A big bag is essential for school and sixth form in particular. As my 'What's in my day bag?' went down so well I thought I'd show you what I keep in my school bag.
So my school bag is one of River Islands oversized handbags and I know they're a bit pricey at £45 but they are very good quality. As my mumma would say 'You go through more school bags than I do hot dinners' and it is true because I just don't have any luck with school bags. So this year I decided I'm going to bite the bullet and spend the money on a decent bag and it has lasted me all year.

The bag itself it black faux leather with a blue trim around both sets of straps. You have the basic 2 short strap to wear on your should or in the crook of your arm or you have the other option which is a non-detachable long strap which can be used for cross body or on the shoulder

Once you enter sixth form at my school you are given a school laptop which you keep for the duration of your A-Level courses and at the end of the courses you buy the laptop back for just a pound. So my laptop is always in my bag at school along with the millions of pens and somehow keep losing and my scientific calculator as I am a maths student. I also keep a bunch of colourful note cards in my bag to write notes for psychology. Keeping my purse on me is a necessity because that is wear I keep my student ID card which is how we print, pay for things and enter my school so without it I'm screwed! When living in England you soon learn that you should have an umbrella in your bag at all times even in the summer as you never know when it will rain and as I live a 40 minute walk away from my school if I left my umbrella at home I would walk in looking like a drowned rat. Obviously I have my keys on me at all times and some lip balm because a girl always needs her lip balm and I normally have some paracetamol in my bag in case some sort of searing pain occurs during school. Lastly I always have some school books in my bag whether they are text books, subject exercise books or past exam paper booklets I have to carry one around with me

So that is a little insight into what I keep in my school bag

Real Techniques - The Core Collection

On Tuesday I ventured into town to get my chelsea boots reheeled and whilst waiting I had a little mooch around my favourite drugstore, that right Boots!
It is obvious that I have no self control what so ever when it comes to beauty products (oops). But due to my latest body shop purchase my new set of Real Techniques brushes were more of an necessity than a desire.
So with my new purchase of the Real Techniques Core Collection it brings my RT brushes up to a total of 11.
So the Core Collection comes with 4 base brushes the Contour Brush, Pointed Foundation Brush, Detailer Brush and Buffing Brush.

There are many purposes for these brushes but I'll tell you want I find them most useful for. So I tend to use my contour brush for bronzer but it is a really great shape for highlighter. I use the pointed foundation brush for concealer as it is bigger than your average concealer brush so it is so easy to blend the under eye concealer in and overall it makes applying you concealer a hell of a lot easier. The way I use the detailer brush is to apply a highlight to the inner corner/tear duct area as it is the perfect shape to get right in there. Lastly I know the buffing brush is meant to be great for foundation but I feel it applies your setting powder amazingly you get an even finish without it  looking cakey either.

Even though I have only had these brushes in my collection for only a few short days but it makes applying my make-up ten times easier now so I give the collection 4.5 stars as I'm not a huge fan of the detailer brush as I only highlight my inner corners on special occasions. If anyone can give me a suggestion on how else to use the detailer brush let me know

What is your favourite Real Techniques brush?

Weekend Haul

So this weekend the mumma and I went on a little shopping trip to Milton Keynes and we did a little bit of shopping of course. So we started the day with a little spot of breakfast in Patisserie Valerie. Mum had eggs Benedict with a standard white coffee and I had a lovely fruit salad with my favourite Peach ice tea (yum!).

We headed to L'Occitaine and grabbed mum's shampoo (I know all the things in L'Occitaine and she buys shampoo).

After L'Occitaine we took to The Body Shop which is one of my all time favourite stores. I wasn't actually planning on buying anything from there but mumma was she only picked up her All in One Face Base in shade 05 and headed to the till. The woman serving us quickly informed mum is was buy one get one half price on everything in stores so mum being mum she picked up the All in One BB Cream in 03 and then I saw at the counter the passion fruit body butter on sale for a fiver (not like I need another body butter) then with my body shop loyalty card I could receive 10% if I spend over £10 and with the buy one get one half price that meant I could buy the one makeup product from the body shop I have wanted for ages the Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in shade 01 (because I am quite pale), YAY!!!

The Body Shop Body Butter in Passion Fruit £5.00

So the body shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder is perfect for girls with pale skin, because I don't know about you but I have had problems finding a bronzer that doesn't make me look like I put orange crayon over my cheek bones instead of bronzer. The struggle has been real until Miss Essie Button found the product and ever since I've wanted it safely in my collection.
The bronzer itself has a hexagonal pattern imprinted onto the pressed powder which emphasises the honey name and retails for £13.00 full price. Also because the Honey Bronzer was made for people with pale skin you can build it to give you the look you desire and it multiuse as well you can use it as a eyeshadow if you don't like wearing bold colours.

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 01 - £13.00

We headed to Boots next but originally in the search for Vera Wang's Pink Princess which they didn't have in stock (sad face). Anyway I compensated for a Rimmel London Apocalips in Luna which is a soft Coral/Orange because I cannot resist buying anything coral colours (hehe). The apocalips lip lacques if you didn't know already are a liquid lipstick and because I'm slowing getting into wearing a bolder lip colour I thought I'd start off with something in between a lip gloss and lipstick and hey presto that's is what the apocalips are! They also have a doe-foot applicator which makes putting it on a hell of a lot easier and less time-consuming than using a lipstick brush. With only using it for a couple of days I can say the wear time isn't fantastic (well not with Luna) and I found myself reapplying once or twice (actually that is to be expected so ignore me). Luna is the perfect starting colour if you only getting into lip colours so go get you some.

Rimmel London Apocalips in Luna £6.49

And obviously it isn't a successful Beth shopping trip without purchasing an Essie nail polish which brings the Essie count up to 12 the newest little edition is Blanc now any pastel collection is not complete without a white in there and that's is my validation for buying Blanc so really it was a necessity (I'm glad you agree). Besides the perks of a having a while nail polish is that it goes with everyday!

Essie Blanc £7.99

After all this beauty buying I headed off to New Look and mum went to Superdry to get my bro a little something. My original plan was to buy two new swing tops and get out but no they only had 1 colour swing top in there and that was the cream one, highly disappointed New Look - get it together! I still got it because I'm obsessed with this style of cami and the moment. However, I'm thankful for this otherwise I wouldn't have found my new lace periwinkle top which is beautiful may I add! Now just a new statement necklace to go with it me thinks.

Please excuse the lighting and the black bra...
New Look Lace Periwinkle Top £9.99
New Look Cream Swing Top £9.99
Just as we were leaving MK we stopped off at Ed's Diner and grabbed one of their thick shakes each I had Banana and Peanut Butter and Mum had Nutella, yum!

anyway this way a long post for only 6 items but there we have it
did you go shopping at the weekend?
if so what new things have you purchased

The 50th Post Post

Saturday will mark the 5 month anniversary of this blog, woop woop! But today is a different celebration, today mark my 50th blogpost (that is a lot!) and just last night I reached 150 followers.
Over the last 5 months I am so grateful to everyone who has read, commented and supported me along the way and I am especially grateful for all the people that have enjoyed my blog enough to nominate me for the Liebster Award.

But really none of this wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for my best friend Paige (check out her blog at www.littlemisspaige28.blogspot.co.uk). She was the one who motivated me to start my little blog and now look at it, yes it is still small and is growing everyday but now I have found a whole community of small beauty blogs.

This post isn't only a celebration for my self as it is also an appreciation for my readers (whoever you all are) because without you commenting and reading I wouldn't have had the motivation to keep posting new things.

thankyou so much for being on this journey with me guys
I love you all
